Rock The Ocean Marathon

BAM!!  Double Marathon Done! Just like that, marathons #17 and #18 are in the books. I spent at least 16 hours this weekend running, jogging, walking, crawling, you give me the moving verb, and I would bet money that I did it! I am dead tired from all this running, so the remainder of this race report will be a photographic journey of my Rock The Ocean Marathon in Huntington Beach.  Sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride!

Here I go again at the crack of dawn.  The things I would do for Titanium!
The start line.  Lots of runners!
And there he is, Mad Hatter Fancy Pants!  Notice the wardrobe change from yesterday.
I told Deo to give me his sexiest pose.
Sally graciously let me borrow her blanket for my make shift Endorphin cape!
I guess this is what happens when couples divorce. Decapitation!
Huntington Beach from the pier!
Ah, dirt. Feels like running on carpet.
Group shot!
And of course, the post race pizza!

It really does take a lot of physical and mental strength to complete back to back marathons, and at times I thought I wasn't going to be able to do it.  But alas, I soldiered through and finished 52.4 miles in one weekend.  DAYUM!!!

Titanium scoreboard: 11 down, 41 to go. Woo Hoo!

  1. I'm not sure I could manage marathons on consecutive weekends - but on consecutive days? With starts in the dark? That's the sign of a fine athletic specimen or a seriously disturbed person. My money is on a mix of the two.

  2. My vote is for the latter: Seriously disturbed.
